Our commitments
Privacy you can understand.
MapleAware collects only the information needed to deliver learning, remember progress, manage sessions and report aggregated program outcomes.
Effective August 20, 2026 · Plain-language summaryWhat we collect
For signed-in learners, we may process a display name, email address, selected learning pathway, course progress, assessment results and live-session registrations. We do not ask learners to provide banking information, government identification or sensitive personal stories.
Why we use it
- Provide and personalize learning
- Save progress, scores and certificates
- Manage requested session registrations
- Create aggregated, privacy-safe reports for program funders
- Protect the platform and respond to support requests
Children and consent
Children under 13 should participate with a parent, guardian, school or authorized community organization. We seek guardian-supported consent where a child cannot provide meaningful consent. We do not use behavioural advertising or sell learner information.
Sharing and retention
Institutional dashboards show aggregated outcomes—not individual learner identities. Service providers may process limited information only to operate MapleAware. Information is retained only as long as needed for learning, accountability, security and legal obligations.
Your choices
You may ask to access, correct or delete your profile, withdraw optional communications, or ask how a decision was made. Contact privacy@mapleaware.org.
Security and incidents
We use access controls, secure hosting and data minimization appropriate to the information. Suspected privacy incidents are assessed, contained, documented and reported where required.
Canadian guidance
This commitment is informed by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada’s guidance on meaningful consent, safeguards and children’s consent.
